How to use archer in clash of clans

Archer is one of the main troop in Clash of Clans, requires elixir as training cost. From unlocking her in the 2nd level of barracks she is gonna be useful till reaching the max level of the game. So in this article, we're going to see how to use archer in the clash of clans.

How Archer works in clash of clans

To use archer effectively you must know how she programmed to work in this game. As per my knowledge  

1. Archer is a single targeting, low hit point troop with long attacking range.
2. The unique ability archer has is she can attack buildings across the wall within her range. so the walls can't stop her.
3. She can attack buildings without getting near to it, this helps her to survive from enemy defenses by staying away from their's range.
4. She targets nearest buildings from the deploying point.
5. She switches to next nearest target after destroying the previous target.
6. But she immediately stops hitting her current target and switches to enemy's clan castle troops, heroes or skeleton if they attack her or any other friendly troops, near to her. 
7. Because of having very low hit points, she can be get killed easily within two hits of all defenses.

As Archer's camp space is 1 and cheap to train, most of the clashers use her to trigger the Giant Bomb and other traps which is a big threat for a group of troops like giants and hogs, by deploying on empty possible trap spots in the enemy base.

And archers are a very economical way to lure enemy clan castle troops by deploying her on enemy clan castle's range (in bases with easily reachable clans castle range) and bring those troops to the corner of the base.

Up to townhall 8, most of the strategy use archers to kill enemy cc troops. Even though her damage per second is low, spreading a group of archers around enemy cc troops will work effectively. Even powerful troops like dragons take a long time to kill the group of archers as it needs to switch target often. But within the time dragon takes, it will be killed by the group of archers.

In clan wars, buildings like builder huts may be placed in corner of the bases. Letting those corner building unattended will leads to 99% 2-star attack. But to prevent this, archers always come in handy. By bringing 2 to 3 archers with your main troops will save you from 99% 2-star heart attack.

Attack strategies for archers

As the hitpoints of the archer are low, you always need to use them behind troops with higher hit points. Even though she only used for small purposes in higher level town halls, you can always use her for loot attacks. One of the most used loot attack strategies of the archer is "Barcher". In this strategy, archers destroy's resources safely while barbarians getting hit by enemy defenses.
